If accepted and at the time of matriculation, the School of Public Policy requires a final degree-conferred official transcript from the college or university that granted the degree, showing the baccalaureate degree posted and date awarded. Transcripts must be mailed or emailed directly by the registrar from the college or university that granted the undergraduate degree and must be sent to the School of Public Policy Office of Admission. All transcripts and documents submitted become the property of the University and are not returnable.
Curriculum Vitae:
A current resume or curriculum vitae should be included. While work experience is not required for entrance to the Master of Public Policy program, professional experience will be considered as part of the admission process and can greatly strengthen the applicant's profile as a candidate for admission.
Personal Statement:
The other essay (2-3 pages) should be a brief personal statement indicating interest in studying public policy, reason for choosing to apply to Pepperdine University, and any other information that should be considered by the admission committee.
Recommendation Letter:
Two letters of recommendation are required. One academic reference and one professional reference are preferred. The letters may be submitted by completing this form or writing a letter. Documents should be submitted to the address listed below, emailed from the recommender's work email directly to sppadmissions@pepperdine.edu, or faxed to 310.506.7494. For applicants who are California or Arizona State Legislative Staffers with two or more years of experience prior to the date of desired School of Public Policy attendance, one of the two Letters of Recommendation must come from the Office of the Majority/Minority Leaders for the applicant's respective chamber and caucus.
Proof of Financial Support:
You must submit documentary evidence of financial support for all sources that you have indicated on the ISD form. The financial support must be sufficient to cover the student's expenses for one academic year. You will need to submit the following documents: First, check the Cost of Attendance table below to see the total cost of your program. For personal funds, provide a bank statement or other financial statement(s). For the list of acceptable financial documents, please refer to the Proof of Financial Support ( http://www.pepperdine.edu/admission/international-students/content/forms/guidelines_for_submitting_proof_of_financial_eligibility.pdf). For private or family sponsors, provide a bank statement or other financial statement(s) AND an Affidavit of Support. For other institutional support/awards/scholarships/etc., provide a letter on OFFICIAL letterhead including a signature showing amount and length of support.
Copy of Passport:
Submit a copy of your passport, as well as your dependents' passport. If your dependent is a spouse, include a copy of the marriage certificate.
Essay:
One essay (1-2 pages) should address an ethical and moral dilemma faced by applicant in recent years.
