Transcript: Official transcript is submitted to the Graduate School through an on-line system at gradapply. If you are an LSU student, you do not need to send your transcripts to us. If you transferred to LSU before graduating, you do not need to send transcripts from your previous schools. Personal Statement: A purpose statement is required as part of the on-line application. An additional writing sample is optional. Both are loaded through the on-line application system. A 1-2 page statement with standard formatting (single-spaced, 1 inch margins, Times New Roman, font size 12) is recommended. Recommendation Letter: Three letters of recommendation from teacher, employers, or fellow professionals. These letters are loaded into the on-line system by the letter writers. The on-line system has IT support that should be used if letter writers have trouble with the on-line system. Writing Sample: Applicants are highly encouraged to submit an additional writing sample through the “supplemental materials” section of the on-line application. Whenever possible, the writing sample should demonstrate the applicant’s technical writing skills and research goals (e.g., theses, publications, unpublished documents, clinical reports, or class papers).
