Transcript: Transcripts (Originals are needed with the graduate school application) Personal Statement: Statement of purpose (optional) Recommendation Letter: 3 letters of reference (at least two of which must be from academic institutions) Writing Sample: Statement of research or project experience: A written research statement must accompany the application, providing a candid description of up to two prior technical research or undergraduate project experiences. If submitting two project descriptions, please identify one that you consider to be a seminal work. The descriptions are to be limited to one page for each project and must consist of the following: A brief introduction to the problem, including statement of technical objectives and goals. Approach used to solve the problem. Indicate if it was computational or experimental or both. If the project involved a group effort, identify your role in the group and quantitatively describe your specific contributions. Key results, including any plots/figures, and related discussion explaining the results. The significance of the results, i.e., what is the new contribution relative to previous work or existing body of literature.
