Transcript: Post-Secondary School Transcripts Applicants will be required to upload a copy of transcripts received from each college or university attended where credit was earned toward an undergraduate, graduate or professional degree. Transcripts for study abroad or transfer programs are not required if the course titles, grades, and credit hours are included on the transcript of the degree-granting institution. If the transcript is in a language other than English, please provide an official translation. If you are offered admission, you will be required to request that official hard copy transcripts from all of your degree granting institutions be sent directly to Tufts. Curriculum Vitae: Your current résumé or CV including dates of your educational history, employment, academic honors, scholarships, publications and other activities should be uploaded as part of your completed application. Personal Statement: You are required to upload a personal statement describing your reasons for wanting to pursue graduate study at Tufts. Please limit your personal statement to a maximum of five pages. Recommendation Letter: Three Letters of Recommendation: Letters of recommendation are an important part of each student's application. The ideal letter writers are people who can testify to your potential to do significant and interesting work in philosophy. Writing Sample : While each application is evaluated holistically, an important part of a successful application is the writing sample. The ideal writing sample is a piece of your writing that best manifests your philosophical capacities. It need not be a philosophy paper. The ideal length of a writing sample is about 15 pages, double-spaced. More than 20 pages is probably too long, while 10 is probably too short.
